Website

I am happy that people besides my friends and family have found this blog. A few editors here at the New Mexican, and even my favorite high school English teacher have found this blog and have had nice things to say about it. It does my heart good! Thank you all for viewing!

You can also view my professional work if you CLICK HERE

While I think of it... I should probably put a new link under my "Links" section to the right.

I also encourage you too look at other work of other young and talented photographers whose blogs are linked to the right as well.

Today will go down in History...

...as the day when I ALMOST got to fly in a B-17. (Insert Charlie Brown's sound effect of disappointment)

Well it wasn't a total loss if I got some decent shots right?

Howdy!

This is what happens when you wait 2 hours for a B-17 to show up... and you have nice light coming in through your truck's window... and you happen to have a cowboy hat in your truck.

Disco Inferno

... I don't think I have to explain who these lovely ladies are anymore....

Mobius Trip

Jive Turkey

If I could go back...

I would have tried photographing this lifeguard at f22... It might have looked better if there was a greater depth of field.

Hopefully this blog will help me make a mental note for the next time I compose a shot like this.

I had 3 days off...

...I missed you too!

Just thought I would take some extra close photos of people's faces. Trying to get back in the swing of things after not shooting for 3 days. I'm bad. I know. I'm sorry.

"We refuse to live in slums!"

Tierra Real is a trailer park community on the south end of Santa Fe. Today it is filled with gang activity, dilapidated rentals and flooded streets. 10 years ago the park had green grass, and well kept areas for recreation. Today, it is overrun by weeds, and the playset has been vandalized with graffiti (not graffiti art), and deliberately melted in some parts. Broken glass bottles make it unsafe for young children.

Bert Dalton, President of Tierra Real Homowners Association is taking action, along with the help of a few of the communities residents. Dalton says considering the cost of living in Santa Fe, Tierra Real is very affordable, "but we refuse to live in slums!"

Rebecca Craig/The New Mexican
Athena Marie Silva, 5, plays on Tierra Real Park's dilapidated playset while other residents pull together to clean up the park on Saturday, May 17. Residents of Tierra Real hope to make the grounds a better place for their children, as well as fix the problems with the trailer park community.

Post 101

It just dawned on me that my last post was number 100. I can't believe I missed it! So this is me celebrating it a little late... with a graduation photo.

A Boost

Sometimes you just need a boost... I was having a few "off weeks" and this assignment gave me a kick in the rear... in a good way.

It was from my ride along with Station 8. Why am I reposting it? I didn't think the slideshow really did it justice. This is probably my most successful hip shot.

Faith At Work

After Nayaret Quezada left and abusive marriage, she found herself a single mother mother of two left with nothing. Faith At Work, a non-profit organization has helped her with furnishing her house, and providing clothing, books, and toys for her children. Without Faith At Work, she says she probably would have gone back to her husband.
